Bayern made several changes to their starting lineup after their midweek UEFA Champions League semi-final first-leg loss to Paris Saint-Germain. Key players including Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Díaz began the match on the bench, while Jonathan Tah captained the team for the first time.
Heidenheim, on the other hand, made only one adjustment, with Arijon Ibrahimović replacing Adrian Beck.
